Forbes Magazine – Sony – “Hackers orchestrated multiple breaches of Sony's PlayStation Network knocking it offline for 24 days and costing the company an estimated $171 million.”
Fortune Magazine (August 28, 2014) - “JPMorgan Chase, other U.S. banks hit by cyberattacks” – “The sophisticated cyberattack, as experts call it, included access to checking and savings account information, reported the New York Times. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been investigating and security firms specializing in digital forensic studies have been tapped to study the intruded networks in recent weeks”
Even some companies employing sophisticated commercial defenses have fallen victim to intrusions that have compromised services and stolen intellectual property. Federal agencies have spent more on cyber security than the entire GDP of North Korea, who some have speculated may be involved with some of these cyber attacks.
